04.24.2016 Again??

So this week has been a good. Sister Cole has been out in the field for almost 2 full weeks now and we are doing well together. Nothing much new to report for this week except that I was sick. Again. This is now the 4th time on my mission that I have been sick. First, I had food poisoning. The week directly after my food poisoning, I had a really bad cold. About a month after that, I had another really bad cold and cough that made it so my throat hurt really bad and I couldn’t speak due to my lack of ability to also breathe. And now, I have had another cold. My head felt so foggy that I couldn’t think. I slept all day on Friday with the slight exception of eating and using the bathroom. But I am better now.
So the work will continue. Dundee is a great place and Sister Cole and I are looking forward to doing a lot of great things in this area!
I love you all and hope you are all doing well!

04.18.2016 Training!

Family and friends!
This week has been a good week. I went to Edinburgh on Tuesday to pick up my new companion who came right from the MTC. Her name is Sister Cole and she’s from Utah. We took a train going to Edinburgh that left at 6am Tuesday morning and took a train back to Dundee at 8:30pm that night so we got back to our flat at about 10:00pm… long day. Something crazy that happened this transfer is that they shut down the other sister area in Dundee. There were 2 sets of sisters when I got here and now there is only one. And the other sisters were not prepared to leave at all… so it is up to me and Sister Cole to clean the other sisters’ flat. That has been interesting…. haha.
The weather has been absolutely beautiful the past several days so that’s been very nice. But that’s actually about it for my week. We tried to teach a lesson to a potential investigator whom neither of us had met and it turned out that he was a Muslim man who wanted to meet just so he could tell us about Islam. He even gave us Quran’s and An Illustrated Guide to Understanding Islam. Haha. Needless to say, we won’t be reading those.
It sounds like everybody is doing really well back home and I hope to hear from you! I love you all and I know that what I’m doing is the Lord’s work.
I hope you all have great weeks!

04.10.2016 Transfers!

Hello family and friends! I hope you are all doing well and have enjoyed your week.
My week has been great. Sorry for the short little pathetic email I sent last week. I will update you more now. So General Conference was amazing. My favourite (the computer auto corrects to “English”) talk was Donald L. Hallstrom’s talk in the Saturday morning session. My second favourite was Jeffrey R. Holland’s talk in the Sunday afternoon. They are both such powerful speakers and it was amazing. My favourite line from Elder Hallstrom’s talk was “you can have what you want or you can have something better.” A fun thing that happened from conference is that Patrick Kearon spoke and I got to meet him while I was in the MTC. That was great.
Official moves calls were yesterday and moves day is on Tuesday. I am staying in Dundee but my companion is leaving and I will be training a new missionary! I don’t know who she is yet because we get to meet the trainees on Tuesday and then we are assigned our trainee later in the day. Exciting stuff!!
Dundee is amazing. Walking is crazy. We walk a lot more here than we did in Edinburgh. I decided to see just how much we walk here and my iPod has a pedometer setting on it so I turned that on and tracked our progress. This last Thursday was the day I decided to track and we walked approximately 14 miles. Yes, that is fourteen miles. In one day. Goodness gracious.
My District leader here in the Dundee 2nd Ward who has been moved to be one of the Dundee Zone Leaders happens to be in a boy band called Beyond 5. He can sing really well. If you look up any of his music videos on YouTube, he is the blonde one. He is Elder Crowe but before his missionary days, because missionaries lose their names, he went by Patch. Just a fun little fact for ya’ll. I now have a new District leader, Elder Parsons, and he will have Elder Roylance as a companion. As previously mentioned, I have no idea who my companion will be.
I hope you all have a great week and that you stay healthy!! I know that my Savior lives and that I am sharing his gospel.
I love you all!

04.03.2016 General Conference

Hello, family and friends!
This week was really good. There is nothing much new to report. Shirley was baptized and that was amazing. General Conference was amazing.
Because I changed zones when I moved from Edinburgh to Dundee, I had another Zone Interview Training. That was really great.
Sorry that this is such a short email! I hope you are all doing well!!
