I hope you are all enjoying summer! I am so enjoying summer in Scotland. It is so beautiful and green. The highest temperatures we get are high 60s so it’s a cold, wet, summer but it’s amazing.
I’m pretty sure that all of my pictures this week are of St. Andrews. For those of you who are golf fans, the town of St. Andrews in Scotland is the home of the oldest golf course in the world. I’m pretty sure it’s the most famous, too. It is absolutely beautiful. Sister Six and I received permission this last P-day to visit St. Andrews and so we did! St. Andrews has a beautiful beach and some castle ruins we were able to see and obviously we got ice cream as well. It was amazing!
This week other than being in St. Andrews wasn’t too out of the ordinary. It was a great week and we saw lots of miracles. It was mostly sunny this week as well which was really nice.
I’m still in Dundee which is a good sign… I might actually be safe this transfer from having to move! Better not jynx it though…. haha.
Anyway, I hope you all are doing well and that everything is great. Enjoy summer and soak up some sun for me!!
Hello Family and Friends!! This week was great! I hope you all are enjoying the sun and the summer in my beautiful home country of America. It was the 4th of July this last Monday which was really strange not having lots of barbeques or picnics but when the only country that celebrates July 4th is the US and you’re not in the US on July 4th, it feels very strange. We were over at a member’s house for dinner that night and they were really cool and bought us American, United Kingdom, and Scottish flags and sparklers to light to take pictures with and have somewhat of a celebration. haha.
Something super exciting that happened this week was that I saw the Queen!! She came to visit Dundee and there were lots and lots of people in the City Center where we street contact so we asked someone what was going on and they said that the Queen was in Dundee and was going to make an appearance! I only got one real picture of her and it’s hard to see her anyway because she’s hidden behind her car. But it’s good enough for me!! I got to see the Queen of England. Which will probably never happen again in my life.
Also, recap of a few weeks ago. There was a ward party in which there were lots of games and such. The ward thought it would be great to have the sister missionaries race against the elders in a three-legged race. Needless to say, we won. And they continue to suffer for it. haha.
Teaching has been great this week. The feeling around Dundee has changed just a bit because 4 out of the 6 elders who served here last transfer moved. So it’s taken a bit to adjust but now we’re falling back to normal again.
I am excited to hear how all your summers are going! Hope you’re all having a great time and enjoying the sun!
Hello Family and Friends! Happy 4th of July!! One of the weirdest things about being in Scotland over the 4th of July is that I never realized just how patriotic people from the US are. Scottish people are patriotic but Americans are just insane. Haha.
Anyway, yesterday was moves call. Sister Six and I will be staying in Dundee together! Which is amazing. We won’t know for sure though till next week considering my track record with moves calls. haha. I am so happy to stay in Dundee. It’s a weird, funky little place but it’s become home and I love it.
We have seen so many miracles this week. We were able to go down to Edinburgh this week to be on exchanges with Sister Stapley and Sister Paxman. Sister DeMille was there as well but she goes home tomorrow. Which is super sad because she’s been out here my whole mission and I’ve been on more exchanges with her than with anyone else but I am so happy for her.
When we were in Edinburgh, we weren’t planning on seeing Paul and Kirsten (the couple I visited when I served in Edinburgh) but we ran into them on our way home!!!! It was an amazing miracle and I was so happy to see them.
Sister Six and I have seen so many amazing miracles this week. We met a guy named Mitchell this week. When we met him and started talking to him, he said that our beliefs are the things that have been missing in his life. He came to church with us on Sunday and it was fast and testimony meeting. He got up and actually bore his testimony in church about how meeting the missionaries and starting to learn about the gospel was filling the hole in his life he didn’t even know was there. He is absolutely amazing.
I am so happy to hear how all of you are doing. Can’t wait to see pictures and stories of celebrating the 4th of July!!
