12.19.2016 Twas the Week before Christmas….

Family and Friends!!

I only have 20 minutes total to email today so this’ll be a short one.
Christmas is coming up. The All-Scotland Conference is on Tuesday. I was able to be a part of another baptism this last Friday. All is well.
Love you all and hope you all have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

12.12.2016 Transfers!!!!

Hello Family and Friends!!

This week has been awesome. Nothing in particular really made it awesome. Besides moves call yesterday and being able to watch the First Presidency’s Christmas Devotional on Sunday night!!

So Sister Anjain and I are BOTH STAYING IN STIRLING for another transfer!!! That was a complete surprise. This will be our 4th transfer together. That’s my record!! It’s also my record for staying in an area!! But I’m so excited. It means we’ll get to enjoy Christmas and New Years with people that we already know. The next transfer call is on January 29th so unless something crazy happens, we’ll both be here for a while yet.

I love Christmas. And so the Christmas Devotional was amazing. And just before we watched it, we found out we were both staying so that was great. We took some pictures with all the people who came to the church to watch it. We have to watch it at a different time than it was recorded because it was recorded at nighttime last Sunday. Which means it would have been really really early Monday morning. If we watched it live. So we had it set up at the church and we got to watch it from there.

But anyway, not much else has been happening!! I’m just so happy to be staying in Stirling for another little bit.

Love you all!!

12.05.2016 A year is past and gone….

Hello Friends and Family!!

I cannot believe that it has already been a year since I came to Scotland. The day that marked exactly a year was just this past Friday. December 2, 2016. And I love my mission. I love the people I’ve met so far. I love the gospel, I’ve already grown so much. And I can’t wait to see what the next 6 months have in store for me!!

Anyway, we had some fun this week. For one, we set up our Christmas tree. It was already in the flat with all the decorations. But we had to buy the lights and tinsel for it. But it makes it so cute. What is hilarious is that it is a bright pink Christmas tree. But we are the first sisters to ever live in this flat. Which means that it has been elders before us this whole time with a bright pink Christmas tree. Haha.

We were able to be in Edinburgh twice this week! Once for exchanges on Wednesday with Sister Sams and Sister Muller- which was so much fun!! We saw so many miracles. And it was crazy because I saw a former investigator that I’d taught this time last year in that exact area!!

But we were in Edinburgh again on Sunday for a mission home fireside. Which was amazing as always. I got to see so many people and it was just great.

The highlight of my week was Hayley’s baptism. We have been teaching Hayley for 3 months now. And she finally made the decision to be baptized. And it was beautiful. She was so happy. She doesn’t smile much in pictures but she was beaming throughout the whole day and the whole day afterward.

But again, love you all!!! I hope you are all enjoying December, the season of Christmas!!

11.28.2016 Time just flies….

Hello Family and Friends!!

This week was definitely an interesting week. One thing that really made it interesting is my lack of celebration for Thanksgiving. Ha. I honestly didn’t even remember it was Thanksgiving until after I’d eaten dinner and we’d come home for the night.

We are able to be in Edinburgh on Thursday actually for our Zone Interview Training (ZIT for short… lol). That was amazing!! We are so blessed in this mission to have a Mission President who comes to every single zone every other transfer to have short interviews with every single missionary. And the transfer that he doesn’t come around to the zones, we go to him so we get to hear him instruct and teach and testify every transfer!! It’s absolutely amazing.

The weather was beautiful this week!! It was really really cold but it was sunny and clear. And I’ll take that over rain any day. Ha.

We had a great time at church yesterday! We had Hayley and Lysiane come!! It was Hayley’s 3rd time at church including when she came to General Conference and it was Lysiane’s first time. Lysiane has just been so excited to learn and to come to church and she even went the YSA institute (univeristy-age bible study group) on Wednesday!!

Hayley’s baptism is coming up this weekend!! So we are soooo excited for that. And my 1 year anniversary of being on my mission is on Friday. Crazy. Time just flies. And the crazy part is that it doesn’t even feel like it’s been a year. But at the same time, it feels like I’ve been in Scotland my whole life.

Anyway, love you all!! Enjoy the week and the colder weather!!

11.21.2016 Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope you all have been enjoying the colder weather!! It certainly has dropped quite a bit out here in Scotland. What makes it worse though, is the wind. Because obviously Scotland is on an island. So we are surrounded by water and located fairly far north. So it gets cold and windy from the ocean. But it’s absolutely beautiful!!

Anyway, this week has been great! We had some really great lessons and we met a lot of great new people!! One of our investigators, Hayley, who we’ve been teaching for almost 3 months now had her baptismal interview on Wednesday!! She still doesn’t want to set a date for her baptism but she’s closer than ever now because she’s been taught everything and she’s come to church and loves it.

We had a fun dinner appointment on Thursday with some YSA from the ward. They invited us over and made stir-fry and gave us icecream for dessert. It was a lot of fun.

Also, on Pday, we went to Stirling castle again with the new elders in our district. That was a lot of fun and we took so many pictures.

But yeah, that’s about it for this week. Hope you all enjoy Thanksgiving!! Eat extra turkey and pie for me because obviously, they don’t celebrate Thanksgiving over here!!

Kind of a crazy, cool picture from Stirling castle of the Wallace Monument. And yes, the grass really is still that green and everything really is that color.
